Crisis Support/Peer Staff

Job Summary:

The Crisis Support/Peer Staff provides support for clients who are needing care coordination, follow-up or proactive support in accessing crisis or emergency supports. Working alongside Crisis Clinicians as part of the Mobile Crisis Team (MCT), this staff may be following up with a person recently assessed by MCT, providing a support call, or referral and care coordination to access outpatient or other social services. This staff may also complete prior authorizations or support those awaiting placement for higher level care, as well as doing follow-up after inpatient psychiatric treatment. This position also provides support from the perspective of having lived experience. Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in related field recommended, High School degree required.

• Two years of experience working in human services field if have bachelor’s degree, four years of experience if have High School degree or the equivalent.

• Broad understanding of the system of care and social service programs

• Experience with outreach, care coordination, crisis intervention and safety planning

• Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.

License/Certifications

Required: Must be able and willing to participate in Qualified Mental Health Professional training done by the State of Vermont. Must hold a valid drivers’ license, current automobile insurance and registration; also required to have a reliable vehicle for use at work.
