Disability Awareness Day
The theme of this year’s Disability Awareness Day on March 23 is “Let’s Get to Work!” About 300 members of the Vermont Coalition for Disability Rights are expected to gather at the State House to spread this message to lawmakers. Advocates want legislators to get to work helping to remove barriers to employment that many people with disabilities face.
This is a free and public event. Catch one of our interesting workshops, attend the press conference and have a slice of pizza for lunch while talking and learning about issues that are important to people with disabilities. Starting at 4:30 p.m., there will be appetizers in the cafeteria followed by a keynote and panel presentation. For more information, contact Stefanie Monte at smonte@vcil.org or 1-800-639-1522.
