 xcited to announce that this year’s educational conference will be held vi
 rtually and offered over two half-days this year!\n\nWhile this event will
  be presented in a different format from previous years\, it is still a gr
 eat opportunity for peers\, advocates\, family members and mental health p
 rofessionals to gather together safely to learn about available resources 
 and services\, hear lived experience stories of recovery and hope\, get in
 formation about the latest research in mental health\, and shine a spotlig
 ht on mental illness.\n\nOver the course of the two half days\, we will fe
 ature an amazing lineup of locally and nationally-known speakers discussin
 g a variety of timely topics.\n\nRegistration is $25 for NAMI Vermont Memb
 ers\, $45 for Non-Members\, and will include recordings for all speakers (
 except Kevin Hines). Scholarships are available for anyone who might need 
 assistance with the registration fee. CEUs for LCMHCs and Social Workers a
 re pending and will be offered at no additional fee this year.\n\nThis yea
 r’s speakers will include:\n\nMay 4\, 2022\n\nBessel van der Kolk\, MD – A
  clinician\, researcher\, author\, and teacher who has spent his career st
 udying how children and adults adapt to traumatic experiences.\n\nCatherin
 e Burns\, PhD  – Licensed Psychologist Doctorate\, and Quality Consultant 
 for Vermont Care Partners\, will talk about Compassion Fatigue.\n\nMay 18\
 , 2022\n\nKevin Hines – Activist\, public speaker and author/filmmaker of 
 the documentary “Suicide: the Ripple Effect” will share his personal story
  about surviving a suicide attempt off the Golden Gate Bridge. (This prese
 ntation will be offered live only).\n\nPanel Discussion on Reimagining Cri
 sis Intervention – This panel will include Mourning Fox\, Vermont Departme
 nt of Public Safety Director of Mental Health\, Terri Lavely\, Northeast K
 ingdom Human Services\, Training\, Development and Advancement\, and Glori
 a van den Berg\, Executive Director of Alyssum.\n\nA recording will be ava
 ilable and emailed to all registered participants after our event for each
  of our speakers\, with the exception of Kevin Hines’ presentation.
